New Residents
The City of Dickinson is a growing community because of its location, diversity, and quality of life. Dickinson enjoys about 212 days of sunshine each year and is located along the Interstate Highway 45 corridor between Houston and Galveston.  Temperate year-round weather allows outdoor enthusiasts plenty of opportunities for great fishing, sailing, jet skiing, camping, birding, hiking, biking, kayaking, surfing, and golf. Dickinson provides quick and easy access to endless days of fun and activity. Within a 25-mile radius of Dickinson are distinctive attractions, dining, and activities for everyone.

Bayou Park III students would attend  Louis G. Lobit Elementary School, Elva C. Lobit Middle School, McAdams Junior High, or Dickinson High School in the Dickinson Independent School District.

Dickinson is also home to several excellent private schools including Pine Drive Christian School, Shrine of True Cross School, and Bay Area Charter Middle School.

Taxes
In addition to the City of Dickinson, all residents live within other taxing entities, such as DISD schools, the County of Galveston, county roads and flood, and Mainland College. More information can be obtained at the Galveston County Appraisal District.

Water & Sewer
The majority of the City of Dickinson is served by the Water Control & Improvement District No. 1. They may be contacted at 281-337-1576.
